G’Day, I’m Laura

I’m an Australian Psychologist, author, speaker, and Psychology Board of Australia Approved Supervisor with over a decade of experience across public health, education, telehealth, and private practice.

Across my career, I have had the privilege of supporting children, adolescents, adults, families, and professionals through life’s more challenging seasons – including anxiety, emotional wellbeing, parenting, grief and bereavement, and major life transitions. My work also extends to clinician supervision, leadership, service development, and building capacity within the psychology workforce.

I am deeply passionate about supporting not only individuals and families, but also the clinicians and systems that care for them. My professional interests include child and family wellbeing, grief and bereavement care, emotional resilience, clinician supervision, leadership, and evidence-informed wellbeing strategies for professionals.

I currently provide Australia-wide clinical supervision and am committed to supporting the development of future psychologists and the broader psychology profession.

Alongside my clinical and leadership work, I am undertaking Higher Degree Research with The University of Queensland, with a focus on innovation in psychological care and telehealth service delivery. This academic work reflects my commitment to contributing to the future direction of accessible, evidence-informed mental health care.

My South Asian heritage and family history in healthcare have deeply shaped my understanding of care, resilience, and connection. I am proud to come from a lineage of care as a third-generation health practitioner registered in Australia. This legacy continues to shape my sense of purpose and commitment to compassionate, evidence-informed practice.

Before entering psychology, I achieved a black belt in martial arts and had an exciting career as a commercial model after winning a national model search, which took me across Australia for a variety of modelling opportunities.

While these worlds may seem very different, both experiences profoundly shaped my understanding of discipline, resilience, confidence, identity, and the pressures many women and young people face in relation to self-worth and belonging. These insights continue to inform my work as a psychologist today.

My approach is warm, compassionate, and grounded in evidence-informed care. I value practical strategies that support meaningful and sustainable change, while also creating space for the emotional complexity that comes with being human.

In addition to my work as a psychologist, I am passionate about writing, speaking, education, and developing accessible resources that help individuals, families, and professionals live with greater wellbeing, resilience, and joy.

Outside of work, I’m a wife and mother to two energetic boys and deeply value family life, health, nature, and creating a life grounded in purpose, connection, and balance.

Thank you for being here – it’s a privilege to share this space with you.

Warmly,

Laura
